Application Procedure to WMU
The Ocean Policy Research Foundation awards up to 25 full fellowships for
each new student intake. WMU nominates applicants for the standard 14-month
course who have been pre-screened by WMU's Admissions Board and who meet
the criteria outlined below.
・ To send completed nomination forms and application forms to WMU's Academic Registry. Copies of all certificates should be attached.
・ Based on the above documents, WMU's Admissions Board decides on academic eligibility of applicants.
・ If an applicant has been academically cleared, the next stage is to secure financing. If an applicant has secured his or her own financing, this must be confirmed in writing as quickly as possible.
・ If the University secures a fellowship for an applicant, he or she will be notified immediately.
・ The University will send each applicant a medical form and a declaration form which must be completed and returned to the University before the applicant's enrolment can be finalized. An applicant then receive a letter confirming his or her enrolment, and, if necessary, can apply for a visa.
・ Applicants or their nominating authority will then have to buy the air ticket for installation travel to Malmo.

According to agreement between Ocean Policy Research Foundation (OPRF)
and World Maritime University (WMU), all applicants, who aspire after the
WMU Sasakawa Fellowships, are requested to contact WMU, instead of OPRF,
for detailed information.
