EVENTS

This "EVENTS" page consists of three parts described as follows:

1) The Japan Field Study Trip:
Every year, we invite new Sasakawa Fellowship students who enroll in WMU to the "Japan Field Study Trip" for a week. This program aims to give the first year students opportunities to meet people in Japanese maritime fields to exchange views and information with them as well as to enhance the participants' knowledge about Japan. For those who are interested in reading the report on the Japan Field Study Trip, please go visit the site.

2) WMU Graduation Ceremony:
You can find the report on the WMU Graduation Ceremony held at the Concerta Hall every year in the city of Malmo. Ms. Susan Jackson of the WMU mostly contributes the report for this website as well as the "Friends of WMU, Japan" Newsletter.

3) Award Ceremony for Sasakawa Fellows:
One of the most eagerly-anticipated events during “Graduation Week” is the reception hosted by the Ocean Policy Research Foundation (OPRF) to honour the graduating students whose studies have been sponsored by the Sasakawa Fellowship Programme. The reception is held in the magnificent Fridhemsborg mansion.

3) Gathering Orientation:
New Sasakawa Fellowship students and senior ones' academic calendars allow for two months overlap only, and in order to strengthen the network and communication activities among the current Sasakawa Fellowship students, OPRF decided to hold the event called, "Gathering Orientation" which would be an excellent opportunity to get to learn each other better.
